Marching Band

2006-07 Band and Color Guard

The marching band is the primary ensemble of the Martin Luther King High School Kingsmen program. The 2006-07 edition of the marching band consists of 160 musicians and Color Guard members.

The marching band performs at all home and away football games and large-scale events. The marching band also competes in parades and field show tournaments. Members of the marching band are required to attend a two week band camp in August and enroll in the Marching Band/P.E. course.

The Kingsmen marching band has achieved much success in a short amount of time.  In 2006 the Kingsmen were honored to be selected to perform in the Tournament of Roses Parade 2007 in Pasadena.  In addition to these high profile perform-ances, the marching band frequently entertains the greater Riverside community.

Congratulations Kingsmen!

King Performs at Rose Parade!  -- The spirited Kingsmen proudly represented King High at the 118th Annual Tournament of Roses parade themed Our Good Nature, January 1, 2007 along with majestic floral floats, and high-stepping equestrian units. The Kingsmen are listed as one of the top 10 bands in California and performed with 21 other distinctively selected bands from throughout the world at the parade. Congratulations Director Charles Gray and the Kingsmen for their incomparable performance of "Kings Good Nature", composed by Dr. Collette Hausey.
